Harrys Gym - What Was Ours Can’t Be Yours

Based in Bergen and centered around the charming voice of Anne Lise Frøkedal, the Harrys Gym induibbiamente are a group of Scandinavian indie scene to aim for a successful career outside the national borders. Fresh from a debut album (Harrys Gym) interesting but not memorable, much inspired by the style of Blonde Redhead, the four Norwegians give today to press their second feature What Was Ours Can not Be Yours , rising sun certainly step higher in quality.
the propensity to remain unchanged acid and gently hypnotic dream pop band's Kazu Makino ( Mountains, Sailing home and The ring is a good example), but the Norwegians in the disc is an extra effort to make hybrid and refined their sound, adding accents radioheadiani ( The visitor ), working on electronic samples on a rhythmic Franta and oblique and suggestive of overlapping voices ( Old Man, Extraordinary girl ), pushing on the pedals and soft melodic shoegaze distortion ( Toothpaste ) and wisdom in slowing down with a lullaby of reverb ( Tell it to my face ) and the carousel graceful and dreamily The Part That falls .
Result: all packaged very well, without moments of great enthusiasm or shooting forward, but with an undeniable and remarkable ability to move with balance and good taste in this particular style, between nostalgia and experimentation.
