Where Can Braids Be Done

PRESS RELEASE: We support the workers and members Tela Umbra

A delegation of SEL, with the presence of Councillor Stephen Briganti, visited the laboratory Tela Umbra of bringing the solidarity of the Left ecology and freedom to the working members.
Next Thursday, the meeting of the Economic Commission on canvas Umbra, our City Council can not attend because of work commitments.
We would like however to raise awareness of our evaluation.
We have closely followed the evolution of the events of recent months, the difficulties in which it was found Tela Umbra even after the passage of some of the workers "historic" the staff of the Region. And 'We believe that the effort that the new Board of Directors and members are pursuing workers go strongly supported by the entire City Council and the Executive. An effort that has already yielded positive results and led to the revival of production, which had almost stopped, and a museum which is an important piece of the history of Città di Castello.
not of secondary importance to the proposal as soon as possible to restore the entire estate Franchetti in Citta di Castello. The Barons Leopoldo Franchetti and his wife Alice Hallgarten were protagonists of the last century of philanthropic work and social revolt in many parts of the country world, aiming to combine work and education as drivers of the emancipation of the people, especially women . When they die they left all the property, houses and financial resources, workers, peasants and ultimately to the city. Protect and promote this heritage is therefore for us a moral obligation and an obligation arising from the testamentary requirements of Baron Franchetti.
The workers, even with voluntary work, are doing much to preserve an asset that belongs to everyone, and we are all called to do everything possible to support women workers and Tela Umbra and to enhance a heritage unique in the world.
